Vancouver 2030 talks to continue as City of Vancouver approves motion

Vancouver, BC – Vancouver 2030 President Mark Hamilton released a statement expressing his support for Vancouver City Council after council voted to approve the motion to continue looking at the feasibility of bringing the Winter Olympic & Paralympic Games back to Vancouver in 2030 as part of the city’s post pandemic economic recovery.

“I am very pleased that Council has decided to allow for continued dialogue and research into the viability of hosting another Olympic & Paralympic Games in 2030. I look forward to our teams continued dialog with our current stakeholders and supporters and engaging in new dialogue with any interested parties and municipalities that are looking to support a potential regional bid for the 2030 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Finally, I would like to thank the tremendous amount of supporters who took the time to write to City Council to express their support, Today’s result is largely due to that, Thank you very much.”
